“Youth Power”. The words have a powerful effect, a powerful meaning. But above all, the most striking element of this platform is working for the society in a competitive arrangement.
To inculcate in us, students, the quality of true leadership, a very special programme ‘Youth Power’ was conceptualized in the year 2008 by The Global Times, Youth Newspaper of Amity Group with the mission to sensitize the youth towards social issues. The competition aims to build a democratic society by nurturing the youth to become competent and engaged global citizens. Every year, each of the eight Amity schools select a social cause and work towards it, through the year.
We at Amity International School Pushp Vihar, had selected ‘32INTACT’- Working towards Better Dental Health as our topic for 2014-15.
We were a team of four: Simran Arora, Kirti Wadhwa, Medha Mathur, and me, Muskaan Mendiratta.
We worked towards the cause from October 2014 to March 2015 in the competitive arrangement, but continue to put in our earnest efforts in bringing a change to the society.
Our activities were divided broadly into three phases: Awareness, Fund-raising, and Tangible.
Our Youth Power finale was held on April 22nd, 2015, and all our laborious efforts paid up as we went back as the winners!
More posts about our experience in Youth Power as a team coming up!
